Lucy Liu has proclaimed she’s completely in love with her brand new baby son, who arrived this week via a surrogate. She announced the name of her little boy by posting pictures of herself holding him on Twitter and Instagram.“Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu. In ❤!” she captioned the gorgeous snaps. The Elementary star, 41, usually keeps quiet about her private life, and she has made no mention of her partner.
Instead, her rep confirmed the happy news in a statement that said:
“I can confirm that Lucy Liu is the proud mother of Rockwell Lloyd Liu,
brought into the world via gestational carrier.
“Mom and baby are healthy and happy.”
With gestational carriers, the eggs and sperm used are usually
donated by the intended parents and so the resulting baby is not
genetically related to the surrogate.
It involves IVF and is used when other fertility treatments haven’t worked.
Perez Hilton, Elton John and David Furnish, Sarah Jessica Parker and
Matthew Broderick and Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have all used
surrogates in the past.
